The Goldsmith of Savoyard Schists

Domaine des Ardoisières was born from a wild project: replanting vines on the dizzying slopes of the Tarentaise Valley. Today, it is considered one of France's greatest estates, redefining the standards for mountain wines.

Extreme Viticulture:

  • The Terroir: The estate is divided into two major sectors. Cévins, on steep schist terraces, and Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy, on clay-limestone soils.

  • Biodynamics: The entire vineyard is managed using biodynamic farming. This respect for nature allows for the extraction of the quintessence of these mineral terroirs while preserving soil energy.

  • The Omont Style: Brice Omont favors low-intervention winemaking, using indigenous yeasts and long, precise aging in barrels (often used) or tanks. The wines are distinguished by their crystalline tension, salinity, and incredible aging potential.
