Bandol Rouge 2020 – Domaine de Terrebrune
Bandol Rouge from Terrebrune is the ultimate expression of Mourvèdre (85%, blended with Grenache and Cinsault). Born from a unique terroir of Triassic brown limestone, this wine stands out for its rare elegance and a saline freshness that endures through decades. Beneath a deep purple robe, it develops a complex nose of small black fruits, liquorice, noble leather, and forest floor. On the palate, the structure is commanding yet highly refined: the tannins, polished by long aging in large foudres, are silky and precise. The finish is defined by a refreshing mineral vibration, the estate's signature. A great wine for meditation and gastronomy, capable of gaining nobility for over 20 years in the cellar.

Southern Aristocracy Reynald Delille rejects forced extraction. Here, Mourvèdre is given the time to deliver its mineral message.
-
The Triassic Secret: This ancient limestone soil (200 million years old) provides precious natural acidity. This gives the wine its "vertical" tension and its ability to age without ever appearing heavy or alcoholic.
-
Traditional Aging: In accordance with the Bandol AOC decree, but with heightened standards, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak foudres. This use of large vats stabilizes the structure without adding vanilla-like oak aromas.
-
The Ultimate Aging Wine: While it can be approached after 5 years for its intense fruit, it truly reveals its complexity of leather, truffle, and oriental spices after 10 to 15 years.
