List of products by brand Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe (Vignobles Brunier)
Located on the famous La Crau plateau, the highest and most renowned site in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is a Rhone legend. Managed by the Brunier family since 1898, the estate owes its name to an old optical telegraph tower that once stood on the property. The terroir, defined by a spectacular layer of "galets roulés" (rounded stones), grants the wines a unique mineral structure and depth. Vieux Télégraphe wines are famous for their aristocratic elegance, favoring balance and freshness over heavy extraction. Their exceptional aging potential places them among the world’s greatest wines.
A Terroir of Stones and Wind
The Vieux Télégraphe style is inseparable from its origin. It is here that Grenache expresses its greatest complexity.
The pillars of Vieux Télégraphe expertise:
-
The La Crau Plateau: This unique terroir, made of rounded pebbles on the surface and red clay beneath, brings quiet strength and saline minerality to the wines.
-
The Art of Blending: While Grenache Noir is dominant, it is balanced by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and a touch of Cinsault. For whites, the estate also excels with Clairette and Roussanne.
-
Traditional Winemaking: The Brunier family practices classic vinification, including partial de-stemming and long aging (20 to 22 months) in large French oak foudres to refine tannins without adding new oak flavors.
-
Elegance and Longevity: Unlike some massive wines from the appellation, "VT" stands out for its freshness and drinkability, revealing notes of licorice, garrigue, and deep red fruits.
