List of products by brand Domaine Marcel Lapierre
Domaine Marcel Lapierre is much more than a winery: it is the birthplace of the Beaujolais revival. Located in Villié-Morgon, the estate follows the teachings of Jules Chauvet (the father of natural winemaking). Certified Organic, the vineyard is managed without chemicals, using manual harvests and native yeast fermentations, with little to no added sulfur. The Lapierre style is defined by brilliant fruit, a silky texture, and vibrant energy that restored the reputation of the Morgon appellation. It is the ultimate reference for lovers of "living wines," combining immediate pleasure with an unexpected capacity for aging.
The Uncompromising "Natural" Spirit
The Lapierre style rejects standardization. Here, the goal is to express Gamay on Morgon's granite soils with maximum transparency.
The pillars of Lapierre's expertise:
-
Respect for the Vine: The vines are old (averaging 70 years), allowing for naturally low yields and exceptional aromatic concentration.
-
Chauvet Winemaking: Low-temperature carbonic maceration, without added yeast or enzymes. This technique extracts the purest fruit and minimizes the need for sulfur.
-
Two Sulfur Versions: The estate is famous for often offering two versions of its wines: an "N" cuvée (Natural, no added sulfur) and an "S" cuvée (very lightly sulfured for transport or export).
-
Precision Aging: The wines rest in old barrels (Burgundian pieces) for about 9 months. The wood is never there for flavor, but to allow the wine to breathe and refine.
