Morgon 2021 Domaine Marcel Lapierre
Marcel Lapierre's Morgon is more than just a wine: it is a symbol. Made from Gamay vines organically farmed on weathered granite soils, this wine is vinified using the traditional carbonic maceration method without additives. Beneath a brilliant ruby robe, it explodes with notes of ripe cherry, violet, liquorice, and smoky granite. On the palate, it is a festival of silkiness: the texture is fleshy yet disconcertingly fluid, driven by vibrant energy and irresistible freshness. Aged for 9 months in old barrels, this Morgon is enjoyed for its brilliant fruit in its youth, yet possesses the structure to gain nobility over a decade. A living, sincere, and universal wine.

Unmasked Fruit The strength of Lapierre's Morgon lies in its purity. It never seeks to impress through forced extraction, but through the accuracy of its message.
-
Granite Terroir: The Morgon soil ("roche pourrie") gives the Gamay a deeper, more "earthy" structure than in other Beaujolais crus.
-
"Chauvet" Winemaking: Fermentation occurs at low temperatures with native yeasts. This preserves the "fermented grape juice" character—ultra-digestible and devoid of aggressive tannins.
-
The Two Versions (N and S): Depending on the batch, you will find the sulfur-free cuvée (often wilder and more explosive) and the version with a minimal sulfur dose (more stable for travel), but both share the same pure fruit DNA.
