Aloxe-Corton "Les Combes" 2023 Domaine Jean-Baptiste Boudier
Aloxe-Corton "Les Combes" by Jean-Baptiste Boudier is a masterful interpretation of Pinot Noir on the clay-limestone soils of the Corton hill. "Les Combes" is located at the foot of the slope, a terroir that traditionally provides structure. In JB’s hands, this wine stands out for its remarkable tannic finesse. The nose is a pure bouquet of small red fruits (Morello cherry, raspberry) and black fruits, with a floral touch of peony and underlying minerality. On the palate, the wine commands a fleshy and dense presence, while remaining guided by a vibrant acidity that provides length. Aging in barrels (with very moderate new oak) adds a noble patina without ever masking the fruit's purity. A pedigree Aloxe—elegant and highly precise.

Elegance on a Powerhouse Terroir Jean-Baptiste Boudier seeks to extract the essence of the fruit while preserving drinkability, avoiding massive extraction.
-
Les Combes Terroir: Located on the edge of the Premier Crus, this "climat" benefits from marl-rich soil. This gives the wine its backbone and depth while maintaining the freshness typical of the Pernand sector.
-
"Infusion" Winemaking: Jean-Baptiste practices very gentle extraction, favoring the infusion of the berries to achieve silky tannins and immediate fruit radiance.
-
Precision Aging: Aging lasts about 12 months in oak barrels. JB uses very little new oak to respect the aromatic delicacy of Pinot Noir and the vintage signature.
