The Balance between Power and Freshness Pinot Gris (formerly known as Tokay d'Alsace) finds a noble expression in the terroirs of Barr. The Domaine Vincent Stoeffler presents a "Tradition" cuvée that avoids the pitfall of heaviness: although rich and structured, the wine retains a fresh backbone that invites tasting.
Terroir and Vinification
-
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Gris.
-
Terroir: Marl-limestone soils, favorable for the development of the structure of Pinot Gris.
-
Cultivation: Certified Organic Agriculture. Special care is taken with the vines to obtain healthy and perfectly balanced grapes.
-
Vinification: Slow fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aging on fine lees. This method adds body and complexity while respecting aromatic purity.
Tasting Notes
-
Color: Deep golden yellow, bright with slight grayish reflections.
-
Nose: Complex and subtle at first, it opens up with notes of white-fleshed fruits (pear), dried fruits (hazelnut), and a subtle smoky or underbrush nuance.
-
Palate: The attack is fleshy and velvety. The wine fills the palate well with ample texture, but it is immediately followed by beautiful liveliness. The finish is clean, long, and indulgent.
Food & Wine Pairings This Pinot Gris is a true chameleon at the table:
-
Meats: A pork roast with prunes, a veal blanquette, or sweetbreads.
-
Exotic Cuisine: Ideal with spicy dishes (mild curry, Thai cuisine with coconut milk).
-
Autumn: Perfect with sautéed mushrooms or a girolle risotto.
-
Cheeses: A matured Comté or a pressed cheese.
