La Petite Montagne Chardonnay 2024 – Pierre Girardin
La Petite Montagne is a masterful foray by Pierre Girardin outside his Burgundian roots. This 100% Chardonnay comes from selected plots in the Vincelles terroir, in the Southern Jura, renowned for its marl and Lias limestone soils. Vinified and aged in his Meursault cellar with the same standards as his Grands Crus, this wine is a surge of pure energy. Beneath a crystalline robe, it exhales notes of yuzu lemon, gunflint, and mountain flowers. On the palate, the precision is surgical: an incisive attack, a "laser" saline tension, and a finish of absolute directness. It is the perfect marriage between Jurassic mineral power and the silky elegance of Pierre-Vincent Girardin's "haute couture" aging.

Jurassic Verticality Magnified Pierre-Vincent Girardin identified in Vincelles a unique potential for freshness and mineral tension, capable of pushing his stylistic signature to new heights of purity.
-
Vincelles Terroir: Located in the South-Revermont, this terroir of gray and white marls breathes a very firm acidic backbone and a striking salinity into the Chardonnay.
-
Burgundian Winemaking (Ouillé): Unlike traditional oxidative Jura styles, Pierre-Vincent works here with full "ouillage" (topping up). The goal is to preserve fruit brilliance, floral notes, and the stone's vibration, without any flor.
-
PVG Aging: The wine is aged in 456-liter barrels. This large volume allows the sharp Jurassic acidity to be polished through extended lees contact, providing a noble body and a silky texture that coats the mineral tension.
