Apremont "Les Jumelles" 2024 Julie Portaz
Apremont "Les Jumelles" by Julie Portaz is a celebration of Alpine freshness. Made from the Jacquère grape, this cuvée takes its name from the two identical and adjacent plots from which it originates. Grown on the limestone scree of Mount Granier, it expresses crystalline minerality and remarkable purity. The nose reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, flint, and citrus zest. On the palate, the wine is lively, slightly sparkling, and very light, with a saline finish that invites further sipping. It is the archetype of a great Savoyard "thirst-quenching" wine, combining precision and elegance. A luminous cuvée, perfect for moments of sharing and conviviality.

The Precision of an Exceptional Terroir The "Les Jumelles" cuvée is the result of meticulous work on two "sister" plots located in the heart of the Apremont appellation. Julie Portaz seeks the perfect balance between mineral tension and crunchy fruit.
Terroir and Winemaking:
-
Terroir: Limestone scree soils from the Chartreuse massif, resulting from the Mount Granier landslide in 1248. This terroir gives the wine its salinity and mineral character.
-
Grape Variety: 100% Jacquère.
-
Winemaking: Gentle pneumatic pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation at low temperatures to preserve aromatic finesse.
-
Aging: Aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks to maintain all the liveliness and the wine's natural, slight spritz.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Fresh and spring-like, marked by acacia, green apple, and a smoky mineral touch.
-
Palate: A direct and dynamic attack. The wine glides over the palate with a fluid texture and mouth-watering acidity. The finish is clean, tonic, and very refreshing.
Food Pairings: An indispensable companion for Savoyard fondue, raclette, or tartiflette. It also pairs wonderfully with seafood, oysters, or small fried lake fish.
