Coteau des Ducs immediately explains why top Chignin-Bergeron wines are attracting growing attention among lovers of great gastronomic whites.

This wine is above all a story of place:
the steep limestone slopes of Torméry in Chignin, one of the historic terroirs of Bergeron — the local name for Roussanne.

The name itself refers to the Dukes of Savoy, who historically cultivated these prized hillside vineyards.

With this cuvée, Guillaume Quénard offers a modern and highly precise interpretation of Chignin-Bergeron.

Old Roussanne vines planted on limestone scree soils produce a wine far more mineral and saline than the richer traditional image often associated with Bergeron.

The ageing is carefully handled through sandstone jars, concrete eggs, and large Stockinger casks to enhance texture without masking terroir expression.

The wine combines ripe orchard fruits, citrus, white flowers, warm stone, and subtle smoky notes with remarkable freshness and salinity on the palate.

A striking example of how modern Savoie wines can achieve true gastronomic depth while keeping their Alpine identity.

Tasting notes

Fresh apricot, white flowers, ripe citrus, and warm stone aromas. Saline, textured palate with long mineral finish.

Food pairings

Scallops, lobster, fine fish dishes, creamy poultry, aged Alpine cheeses.

Ageing potential

Excellent now after aeration, with ageing potential of 8 to 12 years.

Why wine lovers seek it out

Because it reveals a more refined, mineral, and elegant side of Bergeron than many traditional examples.
