Chignin-Bergeron "Les Amandiers" 2024 Domaine Philippe & Sylvain Ravier
The Chignin-Bergeron "Les Amandiers" is the flagship cuvée of Domaine Philippe & Sylvain Ravier. Made exclusively from the Roussanne grape (locally known as Bergeron), this wine comes from the finest slopes of Chignin, on limestone scree soils. "Les Amandiers" stands out for its opulence and aromatic complexity: notes of ripe apricot, honey, hawthorn flowers, and dried fruits. On the palate, the wine is generous and creamy, perfectly balanced by a mineral freshness that extends the finish. It is a great gastronomic wine, sun-drenched and refined, showcasing the aging potential and richness of Savoyard terroirs. A must-have for lovers of characterful white wines.

The Sun-Drenched Elegance of Roussanne in Savoy The "Les Amandiers" cuvée takes its name from the almond trees that traditionally bloom alongside these steep plots, reflecting the warm and privileged microclimate of this terroir.
Terroir and Winemaking:
-
Terroir: Steep south-facing slopes, composed of limestone scree from the Bauges massif. This soil stores heat during the day and releases it at night.
-
Grape Variety: 100% Roussanne (Bergeron).
-
Winemaking: Hand-harvested at peak ripeness. Gentle pneumatic pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation.
-
Aging: Aged on fine lees to provide richness, creaminess, and natural protection to the wine, while preserving the fruit's brilliance.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Intense and charming, exhaling aromas of stone fruits (apricot, peach) alongside floral and honeyed touches.
-
Palate: Broad and rich attack. The texture is silky, almost velvety, with a persistent finish on notes of fresh almond and saline minerality.
Food Pairings: Its structure allows it to accompany rich dishes: pan-seared scallops, seared foie gras, poultry in cream sauce, or high-end Savoyard specialties like Lake Geneva whitefish with beurre blanc.
