The Dalmore 12 years benefits from a unique two-step maturation process. It first spends nine years in American white oak barrels that previously held Bourbon, before being divided: one part remains in Bourbon barrels, while the other finishes its maturation in 30-year-old Sherry Oloroso "Matusalem" casks from the famous Gonzalez Byass house.

Why it is unique:

  • Heritage: A legendary distillery founded in 1839, famous for its variously sized stills that create a heavy and robust distillate.

  • Balance: The perfect marriage between the vanilla sweetness of American oak and the wine-like structure of Sherry.

  • Texture: A rich and liqueur-like whisky, almost "chewy," that immediately captivates the palate.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Intense and warm. Dominant notes of orange marmalade, milk chocolate, and toasted dried fruits.

  • Palate: A silky attack. Flavors of roasted coffee, cinnamon, and praline unfold, enveloped by a malty sweetness.

  • Finish: Persistent and indulgent, marked by candied orange peels and a hint of spiced vanilla.
