Mondeuse Arbin "La Belle Romaine" 2024 Château de Mérande - Genoux
The "La Belle Romaine" Mondeuse is one of Savoy’s greatest red wines. Sourced from the exceptional Arbin terroir, featuring limestone scree and red clay soils, this cuvée is farmed biodynamically (Demeter). The nose offers an immediate signature: an intense bouquet of black pepper, violet, small black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), and a smoky mineral touch. On the palate, the wine surprises with its masterful balance of power and finesse. The tannins, once known for being rustic in this grape variety, are remarkably silky here thanks to gentle infusion. The finish is long, fresh, and deeply spicy. A vibrant and distinguished wine that proves Mondeuse can rival the greatest Rhone or Burgundian crus.

The Wild Elegance of the Alps "La Belle Romaine" is not just a varietal wine; it is a wine of place. The Arbin terroir is to red what Chignin is to white: a qualitative summit.
-
A Sun-Drenched, Draining Terroir: Located at the foot of the cliff, the vines benefit from heat reflection, allowing the Mondeuse to reach perfect ripeness while maintaining mineral freshness through the scree soils.
-
Biodynamic Standards: Working biodynamically preserves natural acidity and fruit brilliance. No additives mask the purity of this Alpine expression.
-
Impressive Aging Potential: While delicious in its youth after decanting, this cuvée has a structure capable of defying time (10+ years), eventually developing notes of leather and truffle.
