Pouilly-Fuissé "En Chatenay" 2024 - Héritiers Comte Lafon
Pouilly-Fuissé "En Chatenay" is the crown jewel of Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon. Sourced from a high-altitude plot in the village of Fuissé, this wine benefits from biodynamic viticulture that exalts the minerality of its limestone soils. Beneath a light gold robe, it reveals a deep and noble nose of white fruits (peach, pear), spring flowers, with a saline and lemony touch. On the palate, "En Chatenay" stands out for its verticality: a dense and silky texture is immediately carried by vibrant acidity and remarkable mineral tension. Aging in large wooden "foudres" (no new oak) preserves the fruit's brilliance and terroir purity. A top-tier Pouilly-Fuissé of rare elegance and great persistence.

The Strength of Limestone and Altitude Dominique Lafon chose "En Chatenay" for its ability to produce tight Chardonnay, avoiding the solar heaviness sometimes found in Southern Burgundy.
-
En Chatenay Terroir: Located on a steep east-facing slope, this plot sits on crinoidal limestone. This geology gives the wine its "rocky" structure and great aromatic finesse.
-
Organic & Biodynamic Viticulture: As with the entire estate, no chemicals are used. Soil work ensures grapes with a perfect sugar/acidity balance.
-
Signature Aging: To avoid excessive oak influence, the wine is aged in "foudres" (large seasoned wooden vats). This allows for slow micro-oxygenation that stabilizes the wine while maintaining its crystalline brilliance.
