List of products by brand Drappier
Founded in 1808 in Urville, Maison Drappier is a family institution led by Michel Drappier, now joined by the eighth generation. Located on the limestone soils of the Côte des Bar, the house is distinguished by its unconditional love for Pinot Noir, which forms the core of its cuvées. A pioneer in sustainability, Drappier was the first Champagne house to achieve carbon neutrality. Its style is defined by minimal intervention: extremely low sulfur levels (non-existent in some cuvées) and very limited dosage. Drappier champagnes are vinous, structured, and pure, offering a frank and generous expression of the Champagne terroir.
The Luxury of Simplicity
Maison Drappier rejects artifice to let the wine speak for itself. It has become the benchmark for those seeking a champagne with character, close to the vine.
The pillars of Drappier expertise:
-
Master of Pinot Noir: The Urville vineyard is a paradise for Pinot Noir. It brings powerful structure, red fruit notes, and a vinous quality highly sought after by gourmets to Drappier's cuvées.
-
Respect for Life: Partially organic and a pioneer in "sulfur-free" winemaking, the house focuses on exemplary viticulture. It has also brought back forgotten grape varieties like Arbane, Petit Meslier, and Blanc Vrai.
-
Historical Cellars: The wines age in 12th-century Cistercian cellars built by the monks of Clairvaux, providing ideal aging conditions.
-
The General's Favorite: Drappier was the preferred champagne of General de Gaulle, a loyalty that marked the house's history and is celebrated today with a special cuvée.
