The Les Sept Vignes cuvée is the beating heart of Château Thivin. As its name suggests, it is a blend of seven different plots spread across the steep slopes of Côte de Brouilly. This 100% Gamay, grown on the famous volcanic "blue stone," expresses rare complexity and depth. Traditionally vinified using whole clusters and aged in oak foudres, this wine reveals an intense nose of small red berries, peony, and mineral notes. On the palate, the structure is fleshy and elegant, supported by silky tannins and a lingering finish. An authentic terroir wine, capable of aging beautifully, it stands as an essential reference for gastronomic Beaujolais.

The Perfect Synthesis of Mount Brouilly "Les Sept Vignes" is much more than just a cuvée; it is a complete interpretation of the appellation. By blending vines exposed to all four cardinal points, the Geoffray family creates a wine of sovereign balance.

Technical Details:

  • Appellation: Côte de Brouilly.

  • Terroir: Steep slopes (30 to 50%) composed of blue stones (diorites) and volcanic schists.

  • Vine Age: Approximately 50 years on average, ensuring excellent concentration.

  • Winemaking: Traditional Beaujolais method using whole clusters. Maceration lasts 10 to 12 days.

  • Aging: 7 months in old oak foudres to refine the wine without adding woody flavors.

  • Farming: High Environmental Value (HVE) and Organic certification in progress.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Highly expressive with notes of morello cherry, wild raspberry, a floral touch (iris, violet), and a hint of white pepper.

  • Palate: A remarkable balance between the fruit's indulgence and the soil's minerality. The tannins are fine, and the finish leaves a sensation of saline freshness.
