Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adelaide Jouët shared the same passion for nature and the arts. She was a young cultivated woman from a family of Norman merchants, he a winemaker and botanist emeritus. In 1811, a year after their wedding, they found the Perrier-Jouet house to meet their desire to create a different champagne house.

The passion of the founders for art, nature and champagne has transmitted from generation to generation. Botanist as his father, their son Charles Perrier resumed the direction of the house in 1848.
